Nearly 200 People Gather On Hilton Head Island To Participate In Hilton Head Institute’s “Courageous Conversations”

The Hilton Head Institute Brings Together Top Thought Leaders for Unique Conference,  and Launches YouTube Channel So People Can Now Watch Presentations Online

Nearly 200 people from throughout the region, and across the country, gathered on Hilton Head Island last week for an opportunity to participate in The Forum: Courageous Conversations on America’s Future.  The three day conference, which was held at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, presented a unique opportunity for people to participate in thought provoking discussions with some of the top minds in the country – and the Hilton Head Institute is now making the content of some of these presentations available for viewing online through the launch of its new YouTube channel at, including Healthcare expert Dr. Mark Smith providing a compelling look about the Future of Healthcare in America and the four courageous conversations we all should be having.

The Forum: Courageous Conversations on America’s Future featured a number of the nation’s most influential and inspiring speakers over the three day conference.  Chuck Todd,  Moderator of NBC-TV’s “Meet the Press,” Political Director of NBC News and author of the 2014 book The Stranger, spoke on Thursday, providing attendees with an in-depth and insightful look at the issue of polarization in Washington, D.C. – and engaging in a lively discussion about politics and our political system with conference attendees.

In addition to Chuck Todd, The Forum featured a number of exciting speakers and dynamic presentations engaging attendees in inspirational and meaningful dialog throughout the three days.  Speakers at The Forum included Benjamin Zander, conductor of The Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and the best-selling author of The Art of Possibility.  His standing-room-only presentation, entitled “Experiencing The Art of Possibility”, took attendees on a journey that offered a startling new perspective on leadership, using the metaphor of the orchestra and a lifetime of experience conducting, coaching and teaching musicians to work his magic to overcome barriers.

“We were thrilled to bring some of the most dynamic thought leaders in the country to Hilton Head Island as speakers for this year’s Forum, and equally as thrilled about how much attendees enjoyed being part of these important, and courageous, conversations,” said Vice Chair, Jim Allhusen.  “We created The Forum to give people here on Hilton Head Island, and across the country, a unique opportunity to gather together to engage in exactly these types of thought provoking discussions.  This year’s Forum event was a true success in our goal to inform the present and transform the future, and we look forward to continuing to provide these types of opportunities for lifelong learning.”
